Dynamique de veille des enseignants en design à l'échelle individuelle et collective pour la réactualisation des ressources au service de la conception

Abstract : Teachers' resource renewal is a critical aspect of design education. Design teachers update and renew their resources to keep their lectures and project topics up to date, in line with contemporary issues and societal changes in an overloaded informational context. Environmental scanning is the activity of scanning the environment in order to identify new trends, signals and change patterns so as to forecast the future. Environmental scanning offers a theoretical basis adapted to the identification of the signs and the perimeters of the resources used by teachers. Resources are shareable materials updated for and through teaching practice and include tangible, digital and intangible entities. This work aims to investigate design teacher's environmental scanning dynamics. We build a theoretical framework that articulates monitoring areas and organizational modes, and crosses design and design education. Our results show the centrality of environmental scanning in design education and in design itself. Teachers rely on a blend of human and documentary sources for identifying emerging issues in the short, medium and long term. Human sources, for example, are essential because they provide fresh and grey information and access to evolving professional resources. Understanding the monitoring mechanisms opens up new perspectives for defining the balance of the monitoring perimeters within teams of design teachers. In particular, it makes it possible to implement a more constructed, conscious and coordinated environmental scanning in order to practice a design that is rooted in emerging societal issues.
